Srikakulam

Srikakulam is one of the 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh with its head quarter located at Srikakulam town. The district was carved out of Vishakhapatnam District on August 15, 1950. Srikakulam has the longest coast line in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is bordered by Orissa on the east and north, Vizianagarm district on the west and Bay of Bengal on the south direction.

Several religious and tourist places are close to Srikakulam which include Baruva beech, Kaviti, Buddha Statue at Rayatheertham, Arasavally Sun temple, Srikurmum temple, Sri Mukhalingam temple etc. Santhikshetram, a temple built in year 2000 maintained by Satya Sai Seva Samithi near Arasavalli temple serves its visitors free of cost by providing food and shelter since the time of its establishment.
